How to Keep Accurate Entry and Exit Records

Understand why accurate entry and exit tracking is important for international travelers and visa applicants.

Accurate entry exit tracking is the backbone of any serious travel record. Tax residency rules, Schengen 90/180 limits, and most long-stay visas all hinge on day counts that have to match border stamps exactly.

The simplest method is to log the date and country every time you cross a border, even for short hops. Add the city you flew into and the flight number, then double-check the date against your boarding pass before closing the entry.

If you cross land borders, take a photo of the stamp. If you use an automated gate that doesn't stamp, save the e-gate receipt or boarding pass as proof. Small habits like these prevent painful gaps when you need to reconstruct a year of movement.

TripoWay makes this lightweight: each trip stores entry and exit dates, automatically calculates duration, and gives you a clear country-by-country view of your time abroad.
